Hi Scratchbuilders,

Here is my Talbot Lago T26 Grand Prix. yes, I have at last completed this car!

The body and chassis are from George Turner.

Bild

Colour - Humbrol French Blue. Too dark?

Bild

Exhaust - Aluminium tape with colouring near to manifold.

Bild

Wheels and tyres - My own wheels, the tyres are made for me.

Bild

The driver is GTM, the decals are Penelope Pitlane.

Bild

I should have done more work on the paint. This is my favourite picture.

Bild

I hope you like it. Peter.

Hi Peter!
Am now also on "Cigar Trip". Is not long, then I got my first deputy before!
I like the individual details such as the suspension platform, the entire front suspension and of course the dashboard.
When the exhaust manifold paint is a good idea! Worth copying!
The spoked wheels, where did you buy the one that I like particularly well!
I'm not particularly happy with my, but I'll find more suitable!
Super Nice work! Thank you for your great reports! :bravo
Greetings from Tyrol
Willi :D

Hello, Peter,

sorry, but I didn´t recognize this car until now, working on my own Talbot Lago.

An excellent work, that you did!

Yes, I think, the colour is a bit too dark, but you will see, the colour, that I used, is a bit too bright...

The George Turner model is more detailed, than the MacPinches´ one, that I have. For example, the filler caps of your car look more, like the original.
The suspension details are scratchbuilt or piece of the body/chassis? Looks great!

What kind of chassis is it? Is it a frontmotor-chassis? With my PP-chassis I had the problem, that the motor is to be seen in the "driving cab", difficult to hide it, and difficult to install the drivers figure, especially in the Talbot.

I like your car very much!

VBR, Taffy

Hi Taffy.

Here is the chassis which has been built using the resin castings supplied by George Turner in the Talbot kit.

Bild

I have bonded the two halves of the chassis together and made slight alterations to the guide. All of the suspension detail is supplied in the kit.
Below is the chassis as supplied in two parts.

Bild

Here is a second car. The colour is much lighter, and is the Tamiya version of French Blue.

Bild

The motor on this chassis also takes up part of the cockpit area.

Bild

Not too bad though, the driver will cover most of it.

Peter.

Thank you, Peter,

for these additional pictures! It is good, to have a chassis directly fitted to the body, it allows more details.
The George Turner body seems to be more precise and more detailed, very fine.
The right colour is difficult to find, there are not so many coloured pictures from these early post war-times. I have found pictures in the WWW, that show the car in dark blue, as your first car, but the most show the lighter blue. Might have been changed from dark to light between 1949 and 1950?

VBR, Taffy
