Like all Le Mans enthusiasts I like the big cars, Ferrari, Jaguar Maserati etc. I also like the smaller cars which have done well in this race. One such car which did well was the Lotus Elite.
In the 1960's the English Supershells company made a Lotus Elite. A couple of years ago FF Models reworked and enhanced the original Supershells moulding, with subtle modifications in order to convert it to 1959 Le Mans spec. I believe this model is still available from the re-formed FPF Models.

The Elite was a GRP monocoque, so i decided that this plastic (urethane resin) body must have a plastic (polystyrene) chassis.
The body was started last year. I prefer to work on bodies when they have been primed. Here is a picture.
Enthusiast will note the 'box' scoop on the bonnet for the carburettors. If a standard car is wished for, then details such as this are easily removed.
This body kit comes with a selection of chassis mounting posts which must of course be fitted to the body. I prefer twin mountings at the front, not the normal single central mounting.
The chassis for this car is a plastic fabrication. The motor is Mabuchi, the guide is Scalextric.
The chassis is now completed and running, still plenty more to do on the bodywork!
Sorry about the error with the thread titles. Hopefully all is now well.
