Hello everyone!
given my interest in American cars, it was a long time since I wanted to make a 1/32 Chevy "Black Widow"!
The Chevy nicknamed "Black Widow" of 1957, was a special version of the Chevrolet 150 sedam 2 door, built for the championship races, enhanced engine and various lightening, allowed this car to become an absolute protagonist on the American tracks.
with a car like this the Buck Baker driver won the Grand National Championship title in 1957.

now, the Carrera already produces a 1957 Chevy in 1/32 scale with the appearance of a Black Widow
but unfortunately it is made with a different model of Chevy!

Bild

This is a Chevrolet 210 Hard Top coupe, while the correct model should be a 150 Sedan two Door.
the passenger compartment pavilion is completely different, and the side moldings clearly differ.

So I thought of building a real 1/32 scale Black Widow, unpublished on this scale I think, starting from the most common version of the Carrera slot.

Bild

the difference is even more evident perhaps observing a version of the "150 Sedan" in a lighter color

let's start..

.. first I built a resin copy of the Chevy Carrera

Bild

then I make a second copy of the roof in order to modify the cockpit pavilion
Bild

At this point I started with the modification of the roof. The roof of the "150" must be higher, longer and have a central upright. then of course the rear window and the windscreen and top line of the roof must be modified.

Bild

I also had to consider the fact that by extending the passenger compartment towards the tail, the edge of the rear trunk should also be moved.

Bild

then I glued the frame of the rear window to the right size appropriate to the Sedan chevy model.

Bild

at this point you can start working on the new roof ... 1 roof by joining 2 roofs!

I took the first roof and divided it into two parts, then I made a smaller section from the central part of the second roof.

Bild

then you will have to compose the three parts together to extend the roof to the new size...

Bild

with this template cut out in cardboard I verified that the measurement was correct.

Bild

and this is a pre-assembly, supported by the Scotch, to begin to get an idea of how the model will come ... but of course there is still a lot of work to do.

I hope to be able to publish new updates soon, a greeting to all and see you soon.
