Audi R8 from the beginning

I'm an Audi R8 fan, and looking for some papermodels to entertain my children, came to this site:

in which I found an incredibly good print of this car.

I printed it and as I could, tried to scale it up to 1/32
A friend asked me: Why do you build a car that you can buy just ready to run?

I still ask myself the same question...

Only with this print and my memory started to make the possible components.
The chassis is a cristalized plastic (that's why is so yellish) and from here raised both sides. As I hope you can

see...I have changed the matireals I started from (a plastic folder) and changed it by plastic from bottles.



The second part was the central body. I thought that splitting this part into two would give me the opportunity to

control better those bents in the bonnet and back
The top and thin tail and the front were really complicated for me, hardly got to imitate somehow the real one.
From this position it can be seen the central curve



Keeping the first cuts has been a good idea to "clone" it several times

The silver car was the firsyt attempt to build the car, as you observe, it wasn´t very successful, longer and narrower than it should be

I managed to put the crown a bit lower than in other slot models

Without completlely painted it weights 71grs
too much time (for me) using sandpaper, using putty and just some more details, ahhhhh

the aileron is also prepared



The cabin, made with just a bit more of plastic, this time from a notebook, I'm aware this car has a digital panel but I liked this "old-fashioned" style
