BODYSHELL AND CHASSIS MOUNTING

Bodyshell comes well sanded and polished. Just a few moulding penalties can be found at the lower part of the shell. I removed and sanded the most first with the dremmel and then with some sandpaper.

The piece we'll use to fix the bodyshell to the chasis it's a separated mass of resin. I've glued to the shell with loctite and some resin dust. The only problem is to check the correct place, mark it with some kind of pen and glue it. I use to place some rubber tube from a wire to make a better hole for the screw.

Chassis mounting is easy: just cut the front part of the chassis to fit wheel distance. We'll have also to cut the axles to an appropiate with. I use the dremmel with a cutting disk for that purpose. Be carefull because metal gets very hot. Maybe I have leave the axtles too short. I prefer to cut axles more than sand the interior of the bodyshell. It will run properly I guess, with no bouncings because of contact between tyres and shell.

I've changed the rims for a Carrera ones that came with a D-Type Jaguar. They're not the correct ones, but the look more alike than the Cartrix rims from the kit.

UNDERSPAN

It's usually the worst part of Ocar kits, so I made this with some plasticard and Fly drivers. Driver arms were deformed with a lighter. Steering wheel is a curved wire. Heads were sculpted too with the dremmel. I wanted them to look more alike the classic helmets with the lower leather part. Gearshift is a pin.

PAINTING AND DECALS

I use Tamiya acrylics. They are suitable to work at home. Neutral grey for the underspan, with some brown and chrome details. Bodyshell painting is a mix of neutral grey of chrome silver and neutral grey because of the 'too shiny' finish of Tamiya metallic colors.

Todo con pinturas Tamiya, que me parecen más cómodas para trabajar en el salón de casa (cosas de los minipisos). La base de la bandeja está pintada en gris neutral, con detalles plateados y marrón para el cuero del fuelle del cambio.

Decals are esay to hand with tepid water. I've picked some DMC white circles for the mumbers that didn't came in the decal sheet.

Some brush work for rear lights. It's covered with 'Cristal Klear', but I'm afraid you won't be able to appreciate it in this pics.

Black and chorme silver for the radiator grid. I've varnished with acrylic glossy by 'Talnes' (a Fine Art vernish for oil paintings). Congratulations if you have reached the end despite my poor english.
