Hello guys. Another of my projects is the conversion of the '60s Lindberg kit of the Aston Martin Le Mans car. As anybody who has seen this kit will know, it's very poor and the overall shape is nowhere near what it should be. This is the kit as I bought it.



It has had work on the rear panel which had to be completely replaced with 30 thou styrene sheet. The sides where too rounded and the front was much too square.



So after much filling, filing and sanding, the shape started to appear.



It has been painted using Hyundai Jungle Green, which is totally wrong. After much research it was discovered that the car should be painted California Sage.I will post further pictures as it progresses. I hope you like it.

i think the main problem with the Lindberg kits is, that they are not really 1/32 scale. How is this kit?

Hello Homer. Well i've checked the main dimensions and it appears to be quite good. The wheelbase seems to be farely accurate so i'm assuming the rest of it is ok. It needed a lot of work to get it to look like it does.

Hi Frank. I do believe it was Le Mans '63. The colour is wrong however and should be painted in the colour of the DBR1 (which is also wrong!). The project cars were all painted Californian Sage, with the DBR1s being Almond Green. Regards, Graham.

Well this one has been a long time coming, but i've finally recast the body.



The plan was to build up the two team cars that ran at Le Mans in 1963. No.7 chassis no. DB4GT0194/R was driven by Bruce McLaren and Innes Ireland and no. 8 chassis no. DB4GT0195/R driven by Bill Kimberley and Jo Schlesser. Neither car finished, both retiring with failed pistons. Here are a couple of photographs of the two shells taking shape.





The colour is now correct being finished in Californian Sage and here are a few pictures showing the photo etched details.

Which kind of chassis did you place underneath?

Hello Thomas. At the moment it's sitting on a PCS32 chassis, but I do have plans to change that to something a little more technical! And yes I know what you mean about the door handles/openers. They are so small and they need a different type of adhesive. I'm glad you like it.
